Seven years ago today at 6:05 p.m., the I-35W Bridge collapsed near downtown Minneapolis. Thirteen people died, and another 145 were injured.

As awful as it was it could has been so much worse. If not for the construction blocking most lanes many more lives would have been lost. I am still in awe that the collapse of such a large thoroughfare at rush hour only killed 13 people.
